Job Description
Description Charge and operate electric arc furnace and Argon Oxygen Decarburization (AOD) vessel to melt and purify metal. Pour test samples and make necessary adjustments to bring the heat into proper chemistry and temperature. Perform melt and pour activities. Operate and adjust AOD vessel to obtain proper chemical composition of metal. Assist in repair and replacement of furnace refractory including complete relining when needed. Operate power lift truck as needed to transport materials. Operate other melt furnaces during periods when Arc/AOD work is not being preformed. Train and instruct new melters. Requirements Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. Basic math skills and tape measure utilization. Ability to operate overhead crane. Ladle/funnel and/or furnace repair experience preferred.
