The Valve Technician is responsible for the assembly, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial valve and actuation packages. This position supports both shop and field service activities and plays a key role in ensuring customer equipment is assembled, maintained, and delivered to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble, test, calibrate, and document valve and actuator packages according to customer specifications and manufacturer requirements. Read, interpret, and apply Installation, Operation, and Maintenance (IOM) manuals, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and rebuild valves, actuators, and related components in both shop and field environments. Perform inspections, functional testing, and quality checks to ensure equipment meets operational and performance requirements. Handle shipping, receiving, and inventory management of valve and actuation components. Collaborate with the Miller Valve sales team to support customer requirements, plan work orders, prioritize projects, and ensure on-time delivery of products and services. Maintain accurate records of repairs, testing, calibration results, and inventory transactions. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and testing equipment required for valve assembly and maintenance activities. Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable industry standards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop and at customer locations. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet customer expectations.
