Job Description
Southeast Perimeter Solutions is seeking an experienced Access Control Technician to install, service, program, and troubleshoot automated gate systems, access control equipment, telephone entry systems, and related low-voltage devices. This is a hands-on field position for a dependable technician who combines strong electrical and mechanical knowledge with excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills. Pay Range $22.00-$28.00 per hourApproximately $45,760-$58,240 annually, based on experience Primary Responsibilities Install, service, and repair access control systems, automated gate operators, telephone entry systems, parking controls, and revenue-control equipment Troubleshoot equipment from various manufacturers Program access control software and configure connected systems Complete final wiring and terminations for head-end equipment and field devices Install and wire keypads, card readers, telephone entry systems, safety devices, vehicle detection equipment, and related controls Pull wire and install conduit, fittings, junction boxes, and supporting equipment Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics Diagnose electrical, mechanical, networking, and programming issues Perform digging, trenching, pavement demolition, saw cutting, and jackhammering as needed Mix, pour, form, and finish concrete Cut, grind, weld, and fabricate parts when required Maintain accurate truck and yard inventory Work independently and as part of a team Provide professional, courteous service to residential and commercial clients Preferred Manufacturer Experience Candidates should have experience with one or more of the following: Linear/Nortek LiftMaster, Elite, and Sentex DoorKing Viking Access Systems HySecurity Daily Expectations Review and understand each work order and project scope before beginning work Perform assigned work safely, efficiently, and within the established labor and material budget Notify the client when traveling to the jobsite Communicate project delays, site conditions, and scope changes promptly Provide estimated labor and materials for additional work and obtain management approval before proceeding Complete detailed daily notes and upload jobsite and completion photos Accurately document all materials used, including purchased materials and truck stock Submit receipts and supporting job-costing documentation daily Assist with invoicing information and payment collection when directed Maintain an organized service vehicle, tools, materials, and inventory Qualifications Minimum of three years of experience in access control, low-voltage systems, automated gate operators, electronic gate repair, or a closely related field Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge Experience using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and megohmmeters Understanding of Ohm's law and basic electrical principles Basic networking and programming knowledge Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics Strong critical-thinking and troubleshooting abilities Comfortable using computers and common programs such as Microsoft Excel Highly organized and attentive to detail Strong leadership and teamwork skills Positive, professional attitude Excellent customer service and communication skills Valid driver's license and clean driving record Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift more than 75 pounds Flexible schedule when project or service needs require it Preferred Qualifications Strong IT background Access control programming experience Telephone entry system experience Automated swing and slide gate operator experience Welding and light fabrication experience Employment Statement Southeast Perimeter Solutions is a drug-free, equal-opportunity employer.
