Full Job Description Position Overview:
We are seeking a technically skilled Steam Turbine Valve Technician to support maintenance, inspection, and repair of critical steam turbine valve components. This role requires hands-on mechanical experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work with precision measuring tools and machining processes. The ideal candidate takes pride in high-quality workmanship and thrives in a shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of steam turbine valves and related components Evaluate components for wear, damage, and compliance with specifications Use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, etc.) to verify tolerances Document inspection findings and support repair recommendations Assist in machining operations or collaborate with machinists to restore components Maintain cleanliness and organization of parts during teardown and rebuild processes Follow technical drawings, procedures, and safety standards

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with steam turbine systems or power generation equipment Background in field service or outage work Exposure to disassembly, reassembly, inspection, welding, lapping in steam turbine valve work Alternate Qualifications (In Lieu of Experience): Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability High level of initiative and willingness to learn quickly in a technical environment Demonstrated work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail Background in trades, technical schooling, or related mechanical fields
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and handle heavy components Comfortable working in shop an environment, using cranes, lifting/rigging, forklifts, etc.
