Controls Technician $40/hr - $45/hr + Overtime (1.5x) + Training + Career Advancement + Medical, Dental, Vision + 401(k) + PTO Franklin Park, IL (Near O'Hare Airport) Are you from an Automation, Controls, PLC, Electrical Maintenance, or Mechatronics background looking for a hands-on role within a highly automated manufacturing environment? Do you want to work with PLCs, HMIs, drives, robotics, vision systems, and industrial networks while developing toward an Automation and Controls Engineering career? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturer operating advanced automated production equipment. The company offers long-term stability, ongoing technical development, and clear progression opportunities for ambitious technicians. In this role, you will troubleshoot and maintain PLC-controlled equipment, support automation projects, and work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve production performance. This role would suit someone from an industrial automation, controls, electrical, or mechatronics background looking for a long-term role with genuine technical progression.
The Role:
Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment Work with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, robotics, sensors, vision systems, and industrial networks Support equipment upgrades, installations, and automation projects Diagnose faults using Allen Bradley / Rockwell PLC platforms Sunday - Thursday role on 2nd shift (3:00pm - 11:30pm)
The Person:
Experience troubleshooting industrial automation, controls, or electrical systems Working knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley / Rockwell preferred) Ability to read electrical schematics and perform electrical fault finding Manufacturing, industrial, automation, controls, maintenance, mechatronics, or electrical background
