PowerSafe Automation is looking for an Electrical Controls Technician who is eager to learn and ready to travel. No advanced controls experience? No problem. This is an on-the-job training position , and we're willing to train the right candidate. You'll work directly with our Controls Engineer, gaining valuable experience installing electronic safety systems, troubleshooting industrial equipment, and assisting with automation projects across the United States. What You'll Do As an Electrical Controls Technician, you'll travel to manufacturing facilities nationwide to install and integrate electrical safety devices on machine guarding projects while learning industrial controls and automation. Primary Responsibilities Install and mount electronic safety devices on industrial equipment. Route and terminate field wiring for machine guarding systems. Travel nationwide for customer installations (projects may require up to two weeks on the road). Assist installation crews with machine guarding projects. Troubleshoot electrical control circuits and electrical components. Shop & Automation Support Assist in wiring new control panels and automation equipment. Support the Controls Engineer with electrical and automation projects. Help build and assemble automation equipment. Assist with equipment startups and commissioning. General Responsibilities Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and management. Assist with research and development of new products and services. Support electrical, instrumentation, and controls portions of projects. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications Minimum 2 years of electrical technician experience .
Basic understanding of:
Safety relays 480V three-phase systems 120V AC and DC electrical circuits Industrial electrical safety practices Using a multimeter Clean driving record. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working from lifts up to 40 feet. Willing to travel approximately 75% of the time. Able to work flexible schedules, including occasional weekends when needed. Preferred Skills We're looking for someone eager to learn and grow. Experience with any of the following is a plus: PLCs Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Pneumatics Hydraulics Industrial automation Control panel wiring Machine guarding systems What Makes You Successful Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Self-motivated with a willingness to learn. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Organized with excellent time management skills. Strong communication and customer service skills. Positive attitude and team-first mentality. Comfortable working in manufacturing environments, including loud areas, varying temperatures, and prolonged standing. Travel Requirements Travel approximately 75% of the time. Projects are located throughout the United States. Individual trips may last up to two weeks . Per diem is provided while traveling.
Compensation & Benefits Starting Pay:
