Controls Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

: The Controls Technician will oversee high volume automation manufacturing lines, with a focus on robotic welding systems. This role centers on modifying and troubleshooting FANUC robotic welding equipment, as well as supporting PLCs and HMIs on a newly expanded production line.

STARTING PAY RANGE

: $80,000/yr.

• $100,000/yr.

• 2nd shift includes off-shift differential = $2.88/hr.

RESPONSIBILITIES

: Support new automation systems for a high-volume shelving manufacturing line, with emphasis on robotic welding equipment. Develop, modify, and optimize FANUC robot programs for welding applications Perform robot teaching, touch-ups, and recovery Support rapid program adjustments to address production changes, process improvements, and quality issues. Troubleshoot robot alarms, motion issues, and sequence ladder logic Troubleshoot and modify PLCs, HMIs, and robotics, including modifications to existing code Assists and guides support personnel (Technicians, Maintenance, Tool and Die, etc.) in technical matters as needed. Develops, installs, and maintains optimum processes for the safe manufacture of quality product in a productive manner. Coordinates successful corrections to production problems using sound manufacturing engineering problem-solving techniques and practices

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

: Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley controls Proficiency in PLC modification and troubleshooting, particularly with Rockwell and Studio 5000 platforms. Troubleshooting experience with FANUC and ABB robotics Ability to diagnose and resolve robot alarms, motion issues, and sequence ladder logic problems in a production environment. Experience working with automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotic cells in a manufacturing setting. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills Ability to develop plans for accomplishing assigned work and set priorities with a proper sense of urgency. Average to above average PC Skills

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

: Knowledge of machine programming systems. Experience troubleshooting
