POSITION SUMMARY:
The Valve Technician is responsible for the preparation, organization, and routing of items to NDE or phosphate, or to be assembled, tested, stored, or shipped.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Load and unload non-destructive exam rack. Palletize all pieces coming off non-destructive exam, tag the pallets, and place them on the appropriate shelf. Operate forklift to load and unload supplies. Locate items from the schedule to be prepped for assembly. Aid in assembly and testing of large valve assemblies (may require coming in early and/or staying late). Paint valves/IBOPs prior to storage or shipping. Palletize and label tested tools on the shelf for storage. Pull orders to be shipped. Keep work areas and tools clean and safe. Phosphate product as per Work Instructions when required. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum one (1) year of valve technician experience preferred.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC
Must be able to operate forklift. Must have basic computer skills. Must have ability to multi-task. Must be detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor shop environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
Physical:
Primary functions require physical ability and mobility to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to infrequently climb on ladders or stairs; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight; to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel toe shoes and safety glasses, must be worn at all times while in the shop.
Vision:
See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing:
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
All employees are to be indoctrinated in the QMS within sixty (60) days of hire.
