As a leader in the design, installation, and service of Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems for commercial HVAC applications, we offer long-term stability, competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and opportunities for professional growth. This position is responsible for the startup, service, troubleshooting, programming, and commissioning of commercial HVAC building automation systems. The technician will also provide Test and Balance (TAB) support, customer training, and ongoing service of installed systems. We are interested in both experienced BAS professionals and candidates with strong HVAC, electrical, or mechanical backgrounds who are interested in developing a career in building automation. Responsibilities Applicants should be flexible in their capabilities and able to perform the following: Start up, service, troubleshoot, and repair DDC/BAS systems Perform point-to-point checkout, functional testing, and system commissioning Troubleshoot HVAC equipment, control sequences, sensors, actuators, communication networks, and low-voltage control wiring Perform preventative maintenance services in accordance with service agreements Program, troubleshoot, and optimize DDC control systems Support TAB contractors during system balancing and commissioning Verify proper system operation and identify opportunities for improved performance Maintain accurate, complete, and timely service and project documentation Provide technical support and basic system training to customers Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, contractors, and project teams Ensure timely, effective, and complete execution of assigned work Assist in coordinating onsite subcontractors, materials, and other resources for new installations as required Required Qualifications Basic computer skills Strong mechanical aptitude Basic understanding of electrical diagrams and wiring Positive attitude and desire to learn, grow, and advance within the company Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Ability to professionally represent Controlco to customers, contractors, and other outside contacts Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non-technical individuals Preferred Qualifications Technical or vocational training or an Associate degree in HVAC, electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, or a related field. Bachelor's degree is a plus.
