Superior Mechanical, Inc. is a locally owned commercial and industrial HVAC company serving customers throughout North Carolina. With offices in Randleman, Raleigh, and Wilmington, our team provides HVAC construction, service, controls, and building automation solutions. We are seeking an experienced Controls Wiring Installation Technician to join our growing Controls division. This position is responsible for installing the conduit, low-voltage wiring, devices, sensors, and control panels used in commercial HVAC and building automation systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Install conduit, wire, cable, equipment, and devices associated with HVAC control and building automation systems Install and mount control panels, electronic controllers, sensors, actuators, and other control components Pull and terminate low-voltage wiring for HVAC equipment, including air handlers, VAV boxes, boilers, chillers, exhaust fans, and related systems Install communication wiring and communication links Address and assist with the setup of VAV boxes and other controlled equipment Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, and control drawings Select the correct wire, conduit, supports, hangers, and installation materials for each application Assist with point-to-point checkout and verification of control wiring Identify material and supply needs and communicate them to the appropriate supervisor Provide accurate information for as-built drawings and project documentation Coordinate installation activities with project managers, customers, and other trades on the jobsite Lead and provide direction to helpers or apprentices when assigned Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all company safety policies and applicable federal, state, and local codes Assist other team members and departments as needed Travel to customer and project sites throughout North Carolina Complete occasional overnight travel when required Skills and Qualifications High school diploma or GED Previous experience installing electrical conduit and low-voltage wiring Experience wiring commercial HVAC equipment strongly preferred Basic understanding of HVAC systems and controls preferred Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project specifications Ability to properly size and install wire and conduit Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Comfortable using laptops, smartphones, tablets, and other electronic devices Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and other trades Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to pass required drug screening and background checks Authorization to work in the United States Work Schedule Monday through Friday. Overtime, weekend work, and occasional overnight travel may be required depending on project needs. Employees must be able to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift heavier equipment with assistance. Work may be performed outdoors, on active construction sites, in mechanical rooms, above ceilings, on ladders or lifts, and in varying weather and temperature conditions. Employees may be exposed to moving equipment, electrical components, loud noise, dust, fumes, vibration, and other typical commercial construction and mechanical-jobsite conditions.
