You'll work directly with engineers and technicians to build, wire, assemble, troubleshoot, and repair custom automation equipment that incorporates robotics, lasers, feeders, indexers, welding, machining, induction heating, packaging systems, and more. If you enjoy working on cars, machinery, farm equipment, or fabrication projects — your skills translate beautifully here. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity with right‑to‑hire , offering a strong pathway into long‑term employment. A Day in the Life Work side‑by‑side with automation engineers and technicians to interpret designs and build custom automation equipment. Review SolidWorks models, drawings, sketches, and specs to plan assembly steps. Organize incoming materials from machine shops and vendors. Calculate dimensions, plan layouts, and determine assembly methods. Verify alignments, clearances, and part fit. Lift, position, and secure machine components. Assemble mechanisms, frames, and automation assemblies. Wire and plumb machines with guidance from engineers. Set up and troubleshoot automation electronics (sensors, VFDs, etc.). Operate basic machine tools (lathes, mills, welders) for fabrication. Verify machined parts meet specifications. Attend training to expand skills in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and robotic systems.
