Pumping Solutions is seeking a skilled Controls Technician to join our team in New York, NY. In this role, you will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of industrial control systems, motors, and electrical equipment for commercial, industrial, transportation, and municipal customers. You will work independently and alongside a highly trained team of technicians to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical machinery and control systems. This position is ideal for an experienced controls professional who enjoys field service work, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality customer service. Key Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, repair, and service industrial control panels, VFDs, PLCs, motor control centers, vibration trending and automatic transfer switch (ATS) systems. Diagnose electrical, wiring, instrumentation, and machine control issues in field environments. Perform startup, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial machinery and control systems. Work with industrial electric motors, motor controls, and associated electrical equipment. Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain variable frequency drives (VFDs) and related automation systems. Service and calibrate industrial instrumentation including flow, level, pressure, temperature, vibration, and monitoring devices. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical drawings. Perform maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery, mechanical systems, process equipment, and control panels. Utilize electrical testing equipment, diagnostic tools, and hand tools safely and effectively. Complete service reports and documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Collaborate with fellow technicians, project managers, and customers to ensure highquality work and customer satisfaction. Apply strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Qualifications 510 years of experience in a Controls Technician, Electrical Technician, Industrial Electrician, or similar role. Strong knowledge of industrial motors, motor controls, and electrical distribution systems. Experience with PLCs, VFDs, ATS systems, SCADA systems, and industrial instrumentation preferred. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings. Strong troubleshooting skills related to electrical and control systems. Electrical, instrumentation, or controls certifications preferred. Experience in industrial manufacturing, transportation, infrastructure, or municipal environments is a plus. Ability to lift equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in field environments. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Excellent communication, customer service, and problemsolving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
