BAS Controls Specialist (Siemens Desigo)

Job Summary The Building Automation Technician is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting control systems that manage HVAC, lighting, and security operations. This role ensures facilities operate at peak energy efficiency while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for occupants. Core Responsibilities

System Maintenance & Support :

Service and maintain complex BAS to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting :

Perform daily system reviews to diagnose malfunctions in digital and electronic control systems.

Programming & Configuration :

Program and modify Direct Digital Control (DDC) logic for various building equipment.

System Commissioning :

Perform point-to-point checkout, I/O verification, and loop tuning for new and existing installations.

Energy Management :

Identify energy-saving opportunities by adjusting equipment schedules and analyzing utility consumption data.

Documentation :

Maintain accurate records of work performed, including as-built drawings, commissioning records, and preventative maintenance logs.

Stakeholder Collaboration :

Coordinate with mechanical and electrical contractors, engineers, and facility managers to resolve technical issues. Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Technical Knowledge :

o Deep understanding of HVAC/R principles and building mechanical systems. o Proficiency with DDC systems and low-voltage electrical controls. o Familiarity with Siemens Systems 600 Apogee, Siemens Desigo, Allen Bradley . o Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals .

Education & Certifications :

o High school diploma or GED (required); Associate degree in HVAC or Computer Science (preferred). o Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Soft Skills :

Strong analytical problem-solving, effective oral and written communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. (occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistance).
• Dexterity to work with hand and power tools in confined spaces or at heights on ladders and scaffolds.
• Exposure to varying temperatures, loud machinery, and adverse weather conditions.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings or emergency on-call rotations.

$36.00 per hour
