We deliver high-quality solutions through proactive partnering with both internal and external team members. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will respond to customer service calls regarding advanced control systems to deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction. You will install, program, terminate, and commission Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, retrofits, and upgrades with minimal supervision.
Note:
This position requires nation-wide travel and participation in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule.
Key Responsibilities System Installation & Commissioning:
Install low voltage cables from prints, program, commission, and terminate DDC systems, RTUs, and lighting controllers. Download databases to controllers and cross-check field terminations.
Technical Service & Troubleshooting:
Respond to service calls on a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule. Remote into jobsites to troubleshoot issues, make requested adjustments, and perform retrofits/upgrades.
On-Site & Nationwide Support:
Provide installation and technical services at remote, nationwide customer sites.
Customer Service & Training:
Deliver hands-on training to clients regarding hardware, system layout, and functionality. Proactively solve client issues to strengthen business relationships.
Project Support:
Assist with job layouts, bid proposals, submittals, and O&Ms. Provide field sketches of discrepancies for engineering corrections. Monitor project estimates to ensure work stays within budget guidelines.
Team & Leadership:
Mentor new hires during orientation, assist in ongoing training, and uphold safety requirements and company policies.
Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required. 2-year Associate Degree or military experience preferred. 2 to 4 years of experience as a Controls/System Technician in the trade. Prior experience working in the construction industry.
Technical Skills:
Advanced knowledge of electricity, HVAC systems, and the ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints. Strong understanding of modern control systems (experience with Distech, Novar, Trend, Innovex, BACnet, LON, or Modbus is a strong plus). Solid understanding of system programming.
General Skills & Abilities:
Intermediate computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel). Strong problem-solving, time-management, and multi-tasking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for client and team interactions. Flexibility to travel nationwide and participate in a rotating on-call schedule. Physical Demands Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and move throughout facilities/office spaces. Ability to lift, handle, and move materials up to 50 pounds.
