The Controls Engineer's duties include supervising and training employees engaged in scheduling, coordination, cost estimation, inspection, and evaluation of maintenance activities. The Controls Engineer determines work priorities, assigns and reviews work. Duties also include programming, calibrating and operating automation equipment, as well as performing necessary maintenance (Assembly, E-coat, Hemseal). This person is to make sure that automated equipment is functioning well for the sake of safety and productivity. Responsibilities

• Ensure productive maintenance plans are scheduled and implemented
• Responsible for the commissioning, diagnosis, calibration, maintenance, and repair of automated equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics, and automated controls
• Works with the Facility Engineer to keep all control systems, mechanical and electromechanical field devices operating according to the basis of design
• Troubleshoot electrical controls related process issues, HMI's and networks
• Must be willing to work in other areas when needed
• Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies
• Able to work extended or flexible hours/shifts as required Requirements
• Flexible to work different shifts as required
• Experience with Rockwell Automation / Studio 5000 (ControlLogix)
• Experience with Siemens Step 7 and/or TIA Portal (preferred)
• Knowledge of industrial networks such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, DeviceNet, IO Link
• Experience with motor drives and motion control systems (VFDs, servos)
• Knowledge of industrial safety systems (light curtains, safety relays, GuardLogix, Pilz, Sick)
• Experience with HMI systems such as FactoryTalk View or WinCC
• Basic knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Proven industrial experience to perform essential functions
• Formal technical training or equivalent industry experience in PLCs and automated systems
• Knowledge of tools, software, hardware, materials, procedures, and hazards of the trade
• Ability to perform delicate repairs, adjustments, and troubleshooting of automated systems
• Physical ability to perform medium difficulty work, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials and tools
