Job Description

Lead the way in building automation and temperature controls as a Temperature Controls Specialist with Thompson Solutions Group in Sioux Falls, SD. Thompson Solutions Group provides comprehensive building automation and temperature control solutions for commercial and industrial facilities. The Temperature Controls Specialist will lead the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and service of Building Automation Systems and temperature control systems. This field-based role requires independent work at customer sites while partnering with project managers and service teams to ensure reliable, efficient system performance throughout the lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform system startup, commissioning, checkout, and functional testing of BAS and temperature control systems Diagnose and resolve complex issues on both new and existing BAS and HVAC control systems Support service calls, system upgrades, retrofits, and preventative maintenance activities Review control sequences, electrical schematics, project drawings, and customer requirements Document completed work and communicate technical findings, recommendations, and system changes
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent 5+ years of experience working with temperature controls, building automation systems, or HVAC controls; strong industrial controls experience will also be considered Solid knowledge of low-voltage control wiring, including analog and digital circuits Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and sequences of operation Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions Experience with BACnet communications and major BAS platforms such as Johnson Controls, Distech, Siemens, Trane, Carrier, KMC, or Automated Logic preferred Niagara N4 experience or certification would be a plus Valid driver's license required Ability to travel to customer sites Ready to take the next steps in your career?
