We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineering Technician to support automation, electrical controls, robotics, and manufacturing equipment within a fast-paced industrial environment. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting, programming, commissioning, and maintaining a variety of electrical control and automation systems. The role will also provide technical guidance and training to electricians and other maintenance personnel working with controls and automation equipment. Responsibilities Troubleshoot PLC systems, including Rockwell/Allen-Bradley and Mitsubishi Perform basic programming and troubleshooting of FANUC robots Configure and troubleshoot servo and VFD systems , including SEW, Allen-Bradley, and Mitsubishi Configure and troubleshoot HMI systems Assist electricians with troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and commissioning electrical control devices Support AC drives, DC drives, servo controllers, contactors, motors, breakers, solenoids, and power supplies Troubleshoot PLC and HMI hardware, including processors, I/O cards, power supplies, network adapters, distributed I/O, and operator interfaces Provide technical direction and training to maintenance electricians Assist with industrial networking and communications, including DeviceNet, ControlNet, and Ethernet/IP Coordinate engineering project work with other team members Participate in equipment commissioning and startup Troubleshoot automation systems and support controls-related projects Perform root-cause analysis following significant downtime events These duties are taken from the attached job description. Qualifications Associate degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field required Minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering, robotics, controls, automation, or a related technical position Experience working with PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment Strong electrical and automation troubleshooting skills Understanding of manufacturing processes and the interaction between equipment, controls, and robotics Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, maintenance, and production teams Ability to train and provide technical direction to others Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills Reliable and consistent attendance The original role requires an associate degree in a relevant field and at least two years of applicable technical experience. The role works directly around automated equipment, robotics, electrical systems, and production machinery. The manufacturing environment may include elevated noise levels, varying temperatures and humidity, dust, fumes, chemicals, and uneven walking surfaces. Schedule Schedule flexibility is required based on production and project needs. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required as workload or projects dictate.
