ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Serve as the regional technical authority for PLC, HMI, SCADA, robotics, vision, safety, and OT network systems across all Carlex facilities Develop, document, and maintain standardized regional controls architectures, hardware/software specifications, and PLC/HMI code libraries and templates Lead controls scope for capital projects, equipment launches, and retrofits, ensuring on-time, right-first-time execution Review and approve integrator-developed designs, code, FAT/SAT protocols, and commissioning plans Provide advanced troubleshooting support for PLC, network, safety, and system integration issues, driving root-cause analysis and permanent corrective actions Mentor and train plant engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel on controls standards, troubleshooting methods, and best practices Author and standardize controls documentation, procedures, and training materials for use across all facilities Manage and technically challenge external vendors and system integrators to ensure quality, cost control, and knowledge transfer Support OT networking, data integration, and cybersecurity initiatives in alignment with IT policy Support plant-level continuous improvement initiatives, including Poka-Yoke integration and robot motion optimization Communicate controls standards, project status, and technical guidance to plant leadership and Manufacturing Technology leadership Champion consistent safety, validation, and change management practices for controls modifications across all sites
