Job Description

The Valve Technician is a position that has multiple repair, assembly, and calibration capabilities in relation to industrial valves. This position will be able to assist with the implementation of new service offerings. The Valve Technician is responsible for the repair and documentation of valves and pressure protection devices, and could also be completing evaluations and work at customer sites. The valve technician should also be able to assist with scheduling any work with outside resources.
Essential Functions:
Perform all service work at a high level and in accordance with all quality and safety standards, to ensure customer satisfaction. The repair valves and pressure protection devices, and also assembly of new devices. Must be willing to travel to customer sites to perform customer site surveys or service (as needed) either alone or with teammates. Must be able to effectively document survey findings and recommendations to the customer along with reporting of findings from surveys at plant sites. Maintain a calibration log of tools and gauges used in testing to ensure all tools and gauges have current calibration. Must be able to adapt to change and a fast paced work environment. Must be willing to work overtime as needed to meet customer needs and customer deadlines Be integrally involved in the planning and scheduling of service work in the shop including planning and communicating with customers and vendors of parts for repairs. Maintain a safety mindset at all times in shop or at customer sites. Maintain good work attendance and productive work ethic.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Good communication skills. Ability to document repair findings and repair reports. Willingness to tackle new tasks and have a positive attitude. Good mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills. Attention to detail.
Vent and Valve Repair Requirements:
Ability to troubleshoot, determine parts needs and perform repairs on different manufacturers of devices. Ability to interpret repair manuals and repair procedures. Ability to document inspection findings and repairs performed. Has knowledge of other manufacturers devices and repair/testing procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
