Controls Technician - 1st Shift Role Overview Madison, WI is the location for this full-time, first-shift position, which runs Monday through Friday. Compensation is set between $29 and $37 per hour, determined by your professional background. Core Objectives We are looking for a skilled professional to manage the maintenance, repair, and optimization of our automated production machinery. Your daily focus will involve working with industrial electrical systems, control wiring, HMIs, and PLCs. Key Duties Identify and resolve issues with automated machinery, HMIs, and PLCs to keep production moving. Analyze and fix electrical and control-based system failures. Execute equipment modifications, repairs, and control wiring tasks to enhance operational efficiency. Interpret complex wiring diagrams and electrical schematics. Maintain a reliable production environment by inspecting and repairing motor controls, sensors, relays, and VFDs. Assist in the successful deployment of new equipment and various facility improvement initiatives. Requirements At least two years of professional background in industrial maintenance, automation, controls, or electrical work. Direct experience working within a manufacturing facility. Practical, hands-on experience resolving PLC issues. Proven ability to operate and navigate HMI interfaces. Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics. Experience with industrial-grade electrical troubleshooting and wiring. Completion of an apprenticeship, technical degree, or specialized training in automation or electrical fields. Desired Competencies Proficiency with Rockwell or Allen-Bradley PLC systems. Experience using RSLogix or Studio 5000 software. Working knowledge of ladder logic programming. Familiarity with servo systems and VFDs. Experience with motor control systems. Exposure to industrial robotics. Physical Demands Candidates must be comfortable operating around heavy machinery, utilizing mechanical and electrical hand tools, ascending ladders, and lifting weights up to 60 pounds.
