Studio Assistant - Part-Time Stott Mountain Pottery | Fountain Hills, AZ Approximately 8 hours/week | Flexible schedule | Starting around November Stott Mountain Pottery is successful and rapidly growing handmade pottery business. I am looking for a part-time Studio Assistant to help in my new Fountain Hills studio. This would be a great position for a high school or college student interested in ceramics, art, or small business, although previous pottery experience is not required. I'm happy to train the right person. Hours will vary depending on the needs of the business, but will typically be around 8 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible, with the opportunity for additional hours during busy seasons and around collection launches. What you'll help with: Glazing and other pottery production tasks Preparing and organizing pieces throughout the production process Sanding and finishing pottery Reclaiming and preparing clay Packing and shipping customer orders Organizing inventory and studio supplies Cleaning and maintaining an organized workspace Assisting with general studio and small-business tasks as needed No kiln experience is necessary, and this position will not involve firing kilns. All necessary processes can be taught. Who I'm looking for: Someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, efficient, and comfortable working independently once trained. Ceramics or art experience is a plus, especially for a high school or college student already taking art or ceramics classes, but it is absolutely not required. Because this is a handmade business, attention to detail and a willingness to learn are much more important than coming in with extensive experience. Applicants will need reliable transportation to the studio in Fountain Hills. Stott Mountain Pottery creates a variety of hand-painted pottery, including artwork featuring Christian and biblical themes, so applicants should be comfortable working around and handling faith-based artwork. Why this could be a great fit: Very flexible part-time hours Relaxed, creative studio environment Hands-on experience with ceramics and pottery production Behind-the-scenes experience running a growing handmade business Opportunities for commission-based work and additional earning potential after training Potential for additional hours during busy seasons and product launches This position is expected to begin around November 2026. I'm looking for someone who can become a reliable part of the studio and, with training, take ownership of their regular tasks.
