Challenge Island®, a premier, hands-on STEAM enrichment program, is hiring enthusiastic STEAM Counselors / Assistant Helpers for in-person school field trips, after-school programs, and family engagements across Walnut Creek, Danville, Alamo, Lafayette, Orinda, and Pleasanton. At a highly competitive rate of $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, this role is perfect for instructional aides, child care professionals, and individuals looking for valuable hands-on experience in creative education. You will work directly alongside our Lead Instructors to manage logistics, distribute project materials, and support young students (ages 5-12) during engineering challenges.

Qualifications:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and inspire students of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Creative thinking and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with educational technology and resources.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with project-based learning or interdisciplinary instruction. Knowledge of current educational methodologies and trends. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Requirements:

Must be available to work flexible part-time program hours (including daytime school field trips, after-school enrichment, or occasional weekend family events). Reliable transportation. Willing to complete a Criminal Background Check, fingerprinting, TB Test.
