Review completed work, QAQC against contract documents and constructability. The Detailer II will assist Project Managers in development of Detailing deliverables such as Work Packages and Schedules. This person will create and develop relationships supportive of the Baker Group Core Focus with internal team members and external clients, as well as maintain and grow the "Client for Life" concept with new and existing clients. Performs related work as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are typical for this job. These are not to be constructed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Provide leadership on detailing projects, overseeing scope, coordination, and execution from kickoff through completion. Review and markup spool drawings, BIM models, and construction drawings to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with project/company standards. Manage detailing deliverables, ensuring all outputs meet project requirements, schedules, and quality expectations. Develop and maintain project specifications and piping material (PVF) requirements to support fabrication and installation. Demonstrate a strong understanding of project schedules and proactively plan detailing activities to align with key milestones. Lead and mentor detailing team members, providing guidance, oversight, and quality control. Apply advanced expertise in detailing practices, typically gained through approximately five years of progressive experience in the role Effectively communicate with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Field Foremen, Shop Foreman, General contractors, Subcontractors, and other team members during construction process. Provide updates to Project Managers, Detailing Team Leaders, Field Foremen and other team members by leading coordination and internal BIM meetings. Perform all core VDC Technician/Detailer responsibilities with a higher level of proficiency, independence, and leadership. Attend industry related educational courses and/or conferences and review new related software to stay abreast of current trends, products, productions tools and best practices and share knowledge gained with peers.MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Minimum of five years in the plumbing and steam fitting apprenticeship OR equivalent job experience OR a minimum of five years of directly related experience which aligns with the essential functions responsibilities outlined AND 3 years of experience leading detailing jobs Thorough knowledge and understanding of P&ID's, PFD's, Process and Utility PipingCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Plumbing and hydronic license or equivalent job experience Valid driver's licenseMENTAL AND PHYSICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Excellent organization and communication skills Ability to perform quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines Proven dependability Strong problem solving and leadership skills Proficient in Plant 3D, Fabrication CADmep, Revit, Navisworks, ACC, Procore, Stratus, Excel, Bluebeam, and Outlook Ability to read construction documents, P&ID's, PFD's, product literature, specifications and cut sheets Strong mechanical aptitude and good math skills Proven ability to partner with design teams and field personnel Ability to work on multiple projects and multi-task effectivelyENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY
