Art Framer Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Art Framer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for expertly framing commercial artwork, ensuring that each piece is presented beautifully and securely. This role involves working with various saws, woodworking tools and machines associated with custom framing, interpreting technical drawings, and constructing custom frames that meet client specifications. The Art Framer will play a vital role in preserving and showcasing artwork through precise craftsmanship and attention to detail. Responsibilities Measure, cut, assemble, and finish custom frames for artwork, photographs, and other display pieces. Utilize power tools for woodworking to create high-quality frames efficiently and accurately. Operate woodworking machines to shape materials according to construction plans and technical drawings. Interpret technical drawings and construction plans to ensure accurate framing specifications. Select appropriate wood construction materials based on project requirements and aesthetic considerations. Ensure all framing work adheres to safety standards and maintains a high level of craftsmanship. Collaborate with design team members to understand specific framing needs and preferences. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper handling of tools and materials. Requirements Proven experience in woodworking, carpentry, or related craft disciplines, preferably with framing or fine arts applications. Proficiency in using power tools for woodworking such as saws, drills, sanders, etc. Familiarity with woodworking machines used in frame construction. Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction plans accurately. Knowledge of different wood types and construction materials suitable for framing purposes. Attention to detail with a strong focus on precision craftsmanship. Good problem-solving skills to adapt plans or materials as needed during the framing process. Strong safety awareness when operating power tools and machinery. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients or team members.
