Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and creative Flameworker to join our team of instructors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of glass techniques and have a passion for creating unforgettable glass classes. This role requires instructing up to 6 guests per hour, creating one shape each. We are looking to grow our team of evening instructors to create the ultimate student experience. Our bar and function space brings in new people to help us share our passion for glass! Duties Shape and mold glass into pumpkins, paperweights, pumpkin-paperweights, flowers, cups and vases and so much more! Teach Friday and Saturday evenings 4 to 8 hour shifts (Eventually Thursdays) Operate and maintain glassblowing equipment, ensuring all tools are in good working condition. Perform quality checks on finished products, ensuring proper paperwork is complete. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Requirements Familiarity with the basic glassblowing techniques. Previous experience instructing is highly desirable. Ability to learn quickly and with fast paced line work practices. Understanding of the physical demand of a hot workshop with metal tools. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. Responsible individual with strong time management skills. Work with molten glass. Flameworking and fused glass knowledge is encouraged We will provide training and the time to develop skills necessary to make our specific class shapes.
