In this role, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality, bespoke framing solutions that enhance and preserve artwork, photographs, and memorabilia. Your expertise will ensure each piece is beautifully presented, structurally sound, and tailored to client specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine artistic skill with technical craftsmanship in a vibrant environment dedicated to excellence in visual presentation. Whether working on museum-grade conservation framing or custom projects for individual clients, your craftsmanship will bring art to life and safeguard treasured pieces for generations. Responsibilities Measure, cut, assemble, and finish custom frames using a variety of hand tools and power tools with precision and care Consult with clients to understand their vision, providing expert advice on framing options, materials, and design choices Select appropriate materials such as mat boards, glass, backing boards, and mounting hardware to match project requirements Use graphic design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign to prepare layouts or visualize framing concepts when needed Fabricate specialized components including rigging or mounting systems for unique or complex artworks Ensure all finished pieces meet quality standards for durability, aesthetics, and conservation needs Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols during fabrication and installation processes Must be fluent with Wizzard Computerized Mat Cutter Must know how to operate Amp V-Nailer and Amp T-500 Mitre Saw Experience Proven experience in custom picture framing or related craft fields such as carpentry, conservation framing, or production design Strong technical proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques used in framing and display construction Familiarity with graphic design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) as well as SketchUp or CAD programs for layout visualization Knowledge of art handling best practices, including conservation techniques for delicate or valuable items Experience working within museum environments or on projects requiring meticulous attention to detail and preservation standards Ability to communicate clearly with clients about design options and technical specifications Background in visual design, interior design, or media-related fields is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for craftsmanship is essential Join us as a Custom Picture Framer where your artistic talent meets technical mastery!
