The Mechanical Apprentice Program Instructor will be responsible for guiding and instructing apprentices in the field of mechanical engineering. Providing comprehensive training, imparting knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment operation. The instructor ensures that apprentices develop a strong understanding of safety protocols, industry standards, and best practices. They oversee hands-on learning experiences, offer mentorship, and assess the progress of apprentices, fostering their growth and skill development. Ultimately, the Mechanical Apprentice Program Instructor plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of skilled mechanical professionals by imparting practical knowledge and instilling a commitment to excellence and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES JOB FUNCTIONS
 Job functions include but are not limited to the following. Embody EGGER Core Values. General training of apprentices in the technical area (basic mechanical engineering). Link educational content to the respective day-to-day operation. Preparation for vocational school, trainee contests, final apprenticeship exam. Administer a comprehensive training program that will allow your apprentices to be able to run every aspect of the Maintenance Department. Attend any further training courses as required. Plan training programs which will develop key practical skills and acquisition of Company knowledge. Oversee on the job training, providing guidance and support where required to Apprentices and other employees. Ensure that all training and tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents/accidents and hazards are duly reported. Implement and maintain the Company Quality Systems. Ensure all safety precautions as detailed in the Health and Safety procedures are followed and that safety equipment is in good working order and used at all times. Maintain the condition and cleanliness of the training facility and all involved equipment to a high standard. Act as point of contact between school and students. Participation in HR recruiting for potential students. Other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE DEMANDS
General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so. Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours. Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Reading computer screen or other electronic devices. Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment. Working in high and low temperature environments, both indoors and outdoors. Working in a noisy environment with fumes and odors.
QUALIFICATIONS BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE
Proven experience in a training environment. The Learning & Development Instructor should have hands-on practical experience with manual machining (mill/lath), hydraulics, pneumatics, gear box maintenance, shaft and conveyor belt alignment, bearings, welding as well as bench work skills to produce parts with hand tools. Basic proficiency in metal processing. Relevant Technical/Engineering qualification with related experience. Intermediate standard of IT skills and competent use of Microsoft 365 to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. SAP experience preferred. Strong leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and coach others. A strong work ethic including dependability, accountability and follow-through. Ability to work independently and as a strong team member. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent organization and prioritization skills to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge and competence in the delivery of Apprenticeship schemes. Competence in delivering trainings, people management and development programs. Health and Safety Certificate and/or any other related training certifications (i.e. Train the Trainer) are preferred. Knowledge about Technical Mathematics and Technical Physics. Knowledge about the Metric system and Metric blueprints.
