Work Schedule

Flexible hours Monday-Friday 8:00am-6:00pm.

Work schedule will be determined upon hire.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for assembling and installing electrical training equipment, workstations, furniture, and other materials for the college's new electrical lab. Must have strong knowledge of electrical and general workplace safety practices and the ability to work independently.

Essential Functions

Assembles and installs electrical training equipment and components. Assembles workbenches, shelving, cabinets, training stations, furniture, and other lab equipment according to manufacturer specifications.

Assists with moving, positioning, and organizing equipment to create an efficient and functional electrical lab.

Communicates regularly with project staff regarding equipment status, missing items, discrepancies, tagging/inventory and progress toward completion.

Minimum Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in the related field and up to 4 years' related work experience, or the equivalent.

Experienced electrician with mechanical aptitude, including the ability to recognize and work with common electrical components and equipment.

Able to safely operate common hand and power tools required for assembly and installation.

Able to safely lift, move, position, and assemble equipment and materials associated with setting up an electrical training lab.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, troubleshoot basic problems, and maintain strong attention to detail

Desired Qualifications

Experienced electricians preferred.

Special Working Conditions

May be required to lift or carry up to #25 lbs.

May be required to work outdoors or in non-air conditioned spaces in a variety of temperatures and environmental conditions.

This is a short-term position for a pre-determined number of work hours. Will not renew.
