Entry-Level Electronics Assembly and Test Technician // Carlsbad // 1st Shift // $18/HR Job Description Join a modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing team where you assemble, test, and package electronic products and kits. You work with small components, follow detailed documentation, perform routine electrical tests, and use computer systems to record data and ensure every product meets quality and specification standards. Responsibilities Assemble, rework, and reassemble electronic products according to schematics, assembly drawings, bills of material, and other applicable documentation. Verify the accuracy and completeness of instruction documents, including assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of material, before starting to work. Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications and documented requirements. Use a computer to perform data entry, including input of serial numbers and other information into the mainframe or production systems. Package parts into kits for shipping, ensuring all required components are included and properly organized. Label and package finished products, including manuals and accessories, in preparation for shipment. Inform a supervisor or lead promptly when work-related problems, issues, or barriers to completion arise. Perform testing activities such as current checks, burn-in procedures, and operation of Automated Test Equipment to validate product performance. Verify assemblies and subassemblies against applicable documentation to ensure correct configuration and build. Confirm part number, revision level, and quantity received for components and assemblies before use. Conduct routine electrical tests to separate failed assemblies from passed assemblies in accordance with test procedures. Record test data and results accurately and completely in the designated systems or documentation. Inform a supervisor or lead of any discrepancies discovered during assembly, testing, inspection, or documentation review. Essential Skills Interest in electronics and willingness to learn electronic assembly and testing processes. No prior experience required, but candidates must be trainable and open to learning new skills. Basic computer skills, including the ability to perform data entry and navigate simple software interfaces. Good manual dexterity to handle and assemble very small parts and components accurately. High attention to detail to follow documentation precisely and identify errors or discrepancies. Ability to read and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, or assembly instructions (training provided). Mechanical aptitude and comfort using common hand tools and basic equipment in a manufacturing environment. Ability to perform routine electrical tests as trained and follow standardized testing procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required. Comfort working with electronic components and an interest in developing electronics-related skills. Ability to work effectively on a manufacturing floor and follow established processes and safety procedures. Strong communication skills to report issues, discrepancies, and progress to leads or supervisors. Willingness to learn to operate Automated Test Equipment and other production tools. Ability to work on a first shift schedule from approximately 5:30am to 2pm, Monday through Friday. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based on a brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing floor built in 2018. The environment is clean, modern, and designed for comfort and efficiency. The dress code is manufacturing casual, and employees receive an HME coat and safety glasses for use on the floor. This position operates on a first shift from approximately 5:30am to 2pm. The break room includes multiple microwaves and refrigerators for storing food, along with self-serve kiosks offering sandwiches, instant meals, snacks, and drinks. Employees have access to both indoor and outdoor seating areas and multiple TVs on the floor, creating a relaxed and engaging atmosphere during breaks. The facility also features gaming areas, outdoor spaces, a rooftop deck, and easy access to a nearby hiking trail, supporting a comfortable and active work environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.80/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
