Job Description
Job Description Position Summary The Electrical Assembly Technician supports the build, integration, and testing of advanced hydrogen and power electronic systems, including electrolyzers, fuel cell systems, and associated balance-of-plant equipment. This role focuses on high-quality electrical assembly, high-voltage wiring, and system-level integration in both prototype and early production environments. Key Responsibilities Assemble and wire electrical systems for hydrogen platforms, including electrolyzers, fuel cells, power converters, and control panels Perform high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) wiring, routing, termination, shielding, and grounding Build and integrate power electronics components such as rectifiers, inverters, DC/DC converters, and distribution systems Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings Execute cable harness fabrication, crimping, lugging, shielding to industrial standards Support system integration activities, including interfacing with sensors, actuators, valves, and safety interlocks Conduct electrical continuity checks, insulation resistance (megger) testing, and functional validation Assist with bring-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting of hydrogen and power systems Identify and resolve wiring issues, grounding problems, and electrical faults in collaboration with engineering teams Follow strict safety protocols related to high voltage, hydrogen handling, and hazardous environments Document assembly processes, test results, and deviations; support continuous improvement efforts Support prototype builds, design iterations, and rapid engineering changes We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Diploma / ITI / Associate degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience) 2+ years of experience in electrical assembly, preferably in industrial, energy, or power electronics environments Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and system diagrams Experience with cable harnessing, crimping, and industrial connectors Familiarity with multimeters, insulation testers (megger), and basic diagnostic tools Understanding of electrical safety practices, especially around high-voltage systems High-voltage and low-voltage electrical assembly Power electronics integration Cable harness fabrication and routing Electrical testing and troubleshooting System-level thinking (integration of electrical + mechanical + process systems) Safety awareness in hazardous environments Experience with hydrogen systems (electrolyzers, fuel cells, gas handling systems) or similar energy systems Hands-on experience with power electronics (rectifiers, inverters, high-current DC systems) Knowledge of grounding, shielding, and EMI/EMC best practices Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620) Experience in startup, R D, or low-volume/high-mix production environments Exposure to PLC wiring, instrumentation, and industrial control systemsSimilar remote jobs
