Job Title:
Electronic Assembler (Solder) Job Description This role focuses on assembling and soldering RF hardware and electronic components while following standard workmanship and lean manufacturing practices. You will use small hand tools, perform visual inspections, and support mechanical and production activities in a structured, process-driven environment. Responsibilities Assemble and solder RF hardware and electronic components according to established procedures and standard workmanship guidelines. Perform detailed visual inspections on assemblies to verify quality, identify defects, and ensure compliance with specifications. Use small hand tools and basic mechanical tools to complete assembly tasks safely and accurately. Follow lean manufacturing principles to support efficient production flow and reduce waste. Work from written instructions, drawings, or work orders to complete assembly and production tasks on schedule. Collaborate with assembly and test technicians at shared workstations to ensure smooth handoff between assembly and test activities. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with workplace and safety standards. Support production goals by meeting quality, throughput, and reliability targets for assembled products. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with electronic assembly and soldering of RF hardware and related components. Ability to perform precise visual inspections to identify defects or nonconformities in assemblies. Proficiency using small hand tools and basic mechanical tools in an assembly or production environment. Understanding of and adherence to standard workmanship practices in electronic assembly. Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and the ability to apply them in daily work. Ability to work effectively within ITAR-controlled environments and follow all related procedures and guidelines. Capability to follow written instructions, work instructions, and standard operating procedures accurately. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reliable assemblies. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with J-STD standards is highly desirable and considered a strong plus. Experience working with test equipment or in support of test technicians is beneficial. Prior experience in mechanical or production environments supports success in this role. Comfort working in a smaller facility with multiple temporary and permanent team members. Flexibility to work either early morning or evening schedules as needed by production. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a smaller manufacturing facility that can accommodate up to approximately 50 temporary workers alongside permanent staff. Assembly and test technicians share dedicated workstations equipped for electronic and RF hardware assembly and testing. The environment follows ITAR-related procedures and controls, and work is performed in a structured production setting with an emphasis on quality and lean manufacturing. Typical schedules include early morning shifts around 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or evening shifts, within a 9/80 work pattern that provides every other Friday off. The workplace expects appropriate, practical attire suitable for a hands-on assembly and production environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
