Electromechanical Assembler / Welder Job Description This role focuses on performing high-quality welding and assembly work within a machine shop environment, adhering to specific tolerances and production standards. You will receive training but are expected to work independently, interpret blueprints, and contribute to fabrication and fitting tasks as part of a small, collaborative team. Responsibilities Perform MIG and TIG welding operations to meet specific tolerances and quality standards. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to complete welding and assembly tasks accurately. Assemble electromechanical and metal components according to production requirements and specifications. Fabricate and fit parts using appropriate tools and welding techniques to ensure proper alignment and fit-up. Work independently after training to plan and execute daily welding and assembly tasks with minimal supervision. Inspect welds and assemblies for defects and ensure they meet internal quality and safety standards. Collaborate with team members in a small machine shop environment to meet production deadlines. Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean, safe, and operational condition. Follow established safety procedures and best practices while operating welding and fabrication equipment. Support general production activities as needed, including handling materials and preparing components for welding and assembly. Essential Skills Proven experience with welding, including both MIG and TIG processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Hands-on experience working with stainless steel and other metals. Demonstrated ability to work independently after initial training. Experience in fabrication, fitting, and production welding within a shop environment. Strong attention to detail to achieve precise tolerances and high-quality welds. Capability to perform assembly work related to electromechanical or metal components. Solid understanding of safe operation of welding equipment and basic shop tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a machine shop or manufacturing environment. Background in MIG welding, TIG welding, and stainless steel fabrication across various applications. Familiarity with production workflows and meeting output targets. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Danbury, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
