Full-Time Position Summary seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing and production team. The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, fabricating, and preparing electrical distribution equipment, switchgear, control panels, power distribution products, and related assemblies. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read drawings and assembly instructions, and a commitment to producing high-quality work safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate takes pride in workmanship, works well within a production team, and can consistently meet production schedules and quality standards. Essential Responsibilities Assemble electrical and mechanical components in accordance with engineering drawings, bills of material, work instructions, and production schedules. Perform mechanical assembly of switchgear, switchboards, control panels, distribution equipment, enclosures, carts, frames, and related products. Install hardware, brackets, bus supports, mounting components, hinges, latches, doors, panels, cable-management components, and other mechanical components. Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, drills, saws, and other shop equipment safely and effectively. Measure, drill, cut, deburr, fasten, and modify components as required for assembly. Properly torque mechanical fasteners according to specifications and document torque values when required. Interpret basic mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, dimensions, and bills of material. Verify parts and materials prior to assembly and identify shortages, discrepancies, or damaged components. Work closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality personnel to resolve assembly issues. Maintain accurate production documentation and complete required inspection or quality-control records. Inspect completed assemblies for workmanship, proper fit, alignment, hardware installation, and overall quality. Assist with packaging, staging, material handling, and preparation of completed products for shipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and established manufacturing procedures. Meet established production schedules while maintaining quality standards. Support continuous-improvement initiatives designed to improve productivity, quality, safety, and manufacturing efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. 1-3 years of mechanical assembly, manufacturing, fabrication, construction, electrical equipment, or related experience preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools. Ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings and measurements. Ability to use tape measures, squares, levels, drills, impact drivers, torque wrenches, and other common shop tools. Basic understanding of fasteners, hardware, materials, and mechanical assembly techniques. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a production team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to lift and move materials and equipment consistent with the physical requirements of the position. Ability to work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience assembling switchgear, switchboards, control panels, electrical distribution equipment, generator equipment, or industrial equipment . Experience working from electrical or mechanical drawings. Experience with torque specifications and documented quality-control procedures. Experience with sheet metal fabrication or electrical enclosures. Forklift or other material-handling equipment experience. Experience in a UL-listed manufacturing environment. Basic electrical knowledge is a plus but is not required . Familiarity with
UL 891, UL
1008, or related electrical equipment standards is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work for extended periods. Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work in various positions. Ability to use hand and power tools for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and components as required. Ability to work around industrial equipment, steel enclosures, electrical components, and manufacturing machinery. Ability to safely handle components of varying sizes and weights using appropriate lifting equipment or assistance.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
