Light Mechanical and Electrical Assembler Job Description This role focuses on light mechanical and electrical assembly and remanufacturing of small dispensing units and major subassemblies. You work to exact specifications and close tolerances using fixtures, simple hand tools, and power tools. The position also involves disassembly, minor repairs, sorting, cleaning, and inspection of equipment in a structured production environment. Responsibilities Perform light mechanical and electrical assembly work on equipment to exact specifications and close tolerances. Use fixtures, simple hand tools, and power tools to assemble and reassemble small dispensing units and major subassemblies. Carry out remanufacturing operations including disassembly, minor repairs, sorting, cleaning, and inspection of components. Follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and basic blueprints to complete assembly tasks accurately. Interpret color coding for basic wiring to ensure correct electrical connections. Sort and identify various metals for appropriate use or recycling within the remanufacturing process. Apply basic math skills to measure, count, and verify parts and assemblies. Use basic computer functions to record work, access instructions, or track production as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and quality standards. Work scheduled 10-hour shifts and occasional additional hours on Fridays as required to meet production needs. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Basic math ability for measurements, counts, and verification. Experience using hand tools and power tools in an assembly or similar environment. Mechanical aptitude and strong manual dexterity for precise assembly work. Ability to read and follow blueprints and written work instructions. Ability to interpret color coding for basic wiring tasks. Ability to distinguish between various metals for sorting and remanufacturing. Basic computer skills to navigate simple systems or input production data. Ability to stand for up to 10 hours during a shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Basic mechanical experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Basic plumbing experience related to equipment or dispensing units. Comfort working with small parts, fixtures, and close-tolerance assemblies. Attention to detail and commitment to following specifications and quality standards. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
