MECHANICAL ASSEMBLER
- $22/hour Hiring Immediately! Job Description This role offers the opportunity to join and help build a growing, company by performing tear down and assembly of heavy-duty electric trucks in a fast-paced production environment. You will use your mechanical aptitude, experience with automotive or electrical assembly, and ability to read engineering drawings to build high-quality products while following safety and quality procedures. Responsibilities Perform tear down and assembly of heavy-duty electric trucks by following detailed work instructions and engineering drawings. Use hand tools, power tools, and other mechanical equipment to assemble and disassemble components accurately and efficiently. Ensure the consistent implementation of quality and safety procedures throughout all tasks. Identify defects in product or workmanship and take corrective actions to resolve issues promptly. Inspect work to confirm it meets specifications and quality standards before moving to the next step. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies. Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and resolve issues. Participate in required training and comply with all safety and operational policies and procedures. Train on first shift as required, regardless of assigned permanent shift. Essential Skills Previous experience in automotive or electrical assembly line work, such as semi tractors, heavy equipment, farm equipment, or terminal trucks. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work with complex mechanical and electrical assemblies. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and work instructions. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs safely and repeatedly as part of daily tasks. Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective teamwork and documentation. Ability to consistently adhere to safety, quality, and operational policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to embrace new technologies and ideas in a production environment. Can-do attitude with a team-oriented mindset, leadership, initiative, maturity, and dedication. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using hand tools, power tools, and other mechanical assembly tools in a production setting. in mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, wiring, or general labor in manufacturing. Experience working on heavy-duty electric trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles. Comfort working from blueprints, schematics, or detailed mechanical drawings. Ability to maintain a clean and orderly work area in line with lean or 5S principles. Willingness and ability to train on first shift regardless of eventual assigned shift. Why Work Here? Work Environment & pay This is a hands-on, shop-floor production role focused on the tear down and assembly of heavy-duty electric trucks. You will work with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical and electrical components while following engineering drawings and structured work instructions. The schedule runs from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, requiring comfort with extended hours and regular overtime. The facility emphasizes adherence to safety and quality procedures and expects employees to maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area. Dress is typical of a production environment, with appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment as required by safety policies. Pay is $22/hr. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Kansas City, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
