Job Description

  • Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
  • Job Description
  • The Mechanical Assembler builds, tests, and prepares conveyor and carousel components according to detailed drawings and Unit Build Instructions. This role involves mechanical and basic electrical assembly, use of hand and power tools, and support of shipping and receiving activities while maintaining a clean and organized shop environment.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Assemble conveyors and carousel components in accordance with specific drawings, Unit Build Instructions (UBI), and layout drawings.

+ Perform mechanical assembly tasks using hand tools and power tools to build and fit components accurately.

+ Conduct testing of conveyor motors to verify proper operation and performance.

+ Track and inspect conveyor belting on queue conveyors to ensure correct installation and functionality.

+ Palletize and crate conveyors and carousel components in a manner appropriate to each job and shipment requirement.

+ Assist with the check-in of incoming shipments, including verifying contents and organizing materials in the shop.

+ Support the shipping of outgoing orders by preparing, packaging, and staging equipment and components.

+ Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe shop and warehouse environment throughout the workday.

+ Manage personal work time effectively to meet production schedules and support team deadlines.

+ Apply critical thinking to troubleshoot assembly issues, identify alternative solutions, and improve processes where needed.

  • Essential Skills
  • + Proven mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform mechanical assembly tasks accurately and efficiently.

+ Experience using hand tools and power tools in an assembly or production environment.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layout drawings, and Unit Build Instructions (UBI).

+ Basic electrical assembly skills sufficient to work with conveyor motors and related components.

+ Strong time management skills, including the ability to manage ones own time and coordinate with others to meet deadlines.

+ Critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and approaches to problems.

+ Attention to detail to ensure assemblies meet specifications and quality standards.

+ Ability to work effectively in a warehouse and shop environment, including standing, moving, and handling components throughout the shift.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Comfort working with conveyor systems, carousel components, and related industrial equipment.

+ Willingness to assist with shipping and receiving functions in addition to assembly responsibilities.

+ Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area and follow shop procedures.

+ Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with a close-knit, family-like team.

+ Flexibility to work overtime when needed to support production and project deadlines.

  • Work Environment
  • This role is based in a warehouse and shop environment on a 1st shift schedule, typically from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The work involves hands-on mechanical and basic electrical assembly of conveyor and carousel components, regular use of hand tools and power tools, and interaction with shipping and receiving areas. Overtime is available as needed, and the workspace is maintained as a clean, orderly, and safety-conscious environment with a practical, work-appropriate dress code suitable for industrial and warehouse activities.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $18.

00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
