Job Description
Electro-Mechanical Medical Device Assembler Key Responsibilities Perform electro-mechanical assembly, fabrication, and inspection of medical devices following work instructions and documented procedures. Assemble, adjust, and test components using hand tools, calibrated instruments, microscopes, measurement devices, and test fixtures. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate assembly and wiring. Follow cleanroom protocols, including proper gowning and contamination-control procedures. Execute manufacturing, cleaning, testing, and inspection processes in compliance with quality standards. Maintain accurate production, inventory, and quality documentation in both paper and electronic formats. Adhere to GMP, FDA, safety, and regulatory requirements for medical device manufacturing. Support material handling and coordinate with warehouse personnel to maintain production flow. Perform basic calibration, testing, and product verification activities. Communicate effectively with production teams, supervisors, and cross-functional departments. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in manufacturing and cleanroom areas. Support production schedules through occasional overtime and weekend work when required. Required Qualifications 3+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Medical device assembly experience preferred, particularly in regulated environments. Proficiency with small hand tools and mechanical assembly tools. Experience using measurement equipment such as calipers, gauges, and inspection tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, wiring, and fabrication. Experience following detailed work instructions, SOPs, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment with strict contamination-control requirements. Soldering experience for electronic or electro-mechanical assemblies. Ability to perform detailed assembly and inspection work under a microscope. Familiarity with FDA regulations and medical device manufacturing standards. Basic computer skills for documentation and electronic recordkeeping. Strong attention to detail, quality, and documentation accuracy. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience assembling cardiology, pulmonary, or other medical devices. BG in electronics manufacturing or electronic assemblies. Experience with test fixtures, calibrated instruments, and product validation. Military or technical service BG is a plus. Familiarity with highly regulated manufacturing environments requiring documentation and traceability. Ability to perform repetitive, precision-based work while maintaining quality standards. Demonstrated reliability, flexibility, and willingness to work overtime when needed. Work Environment Cleanroom and manufacturing environment supporting medical device production. Seated assembly work involving microscopes, hand tools, calipers, and testing equipment.
First-shift schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Occasional overtime and weekend work required based on production demands. Small, collaborative facility with a strong focus on GMP, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Mission-driven environment supporting life-saving cardiology and pulmonary medical technologies. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
