Job Description

Soldering Technician Location:
Frederick, MD Shift:
1st shift, Monday-Thursday, four 10-hour days
Pay:
Up to $33/hour
Duration:
12+ month contract with possible contract-to-hire
Interview:
Phone interview, then onsite interview with a 45-minute skills assessment Work status: U.S. citizenship required; must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance Seeking an experienced Soldering Technician for a long-term, first-shift opportunity in Frederick, MD. This is a hands-on electronic assembly role supporting advanced defense-related products.
Responsibilities include:
Hand solder tiny electronic components, including 0201 parts and ICs, onto circuit boards Perform through-hole, surface-mount, rework and reflow soldering Assemble PCB, cable, harness and mechanical subassemblies Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, work instructions and process documentation Use soldering irons, hot air tools, hot plates, microscopes and soldering stations Perform in-process and final inspection of assemblies Support first-article builds by interpreting prints and specifications Participate in Lean and 6S activities Maintain a clean, organized and quality-focused work area
Qualifications :
High school diploma plus 8+ years of relevant experience, or Associate degree plus 6+ years Strong recent experience with hand soldering, SMT, through-hole, rework and reflow soldering Experience working with small electronic components and circuit boards Comfortable reading blueprints, schematics and detailed assembly instructions Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail and stable work history Soldering certifications are a plus U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance required Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Soldering Technician Pay:
$25.00 - $33.00 per hour People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Application Question(s): Do you have at least 6 years of hands-on electronic assembly and soldering experience? Do you have recent experience with hand soldering both through-hole and surface-mount components? Do you have extensive experience performing PCB rework and reflow soldering? Have you worked with very small electronic components, including 0201 parts and ICs? Have you used microscopes, soldering irons, hot air guns and hot plates for electronic assembly or rework? Can you read and follow blueprints, schematics, assembly drawings and detailed work instructions? Have you performed in-process and final inspection of electronic assemblies? Are you a U.S. citizen able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance?
