Job Description

Wiring Technician Key Responsibilities Assemble electrical and structural components into finished products according to specifications, blueprints, schematics, and work orders. Build and wire switchboards, panelboards, and copper bussing assemblies to design requirements. Read and interpret diagrams, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), blueprints, and technical documentation. Ensure products meet quality standards by verifying assemblies are level, square, and built to specification. Inspect structural components and materials for damage, defects, or nonconformance before assembly. Use torque wrenches and other tools to tighten fasteners to required specifications. Verify proper spacing and installation of copper bussing assemblies. Operate hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment safely and effectively. Perform visual inspections and troubleshoot assembly issues to maintain product quality. Identify and report missing parts, shortages, production concerns, and quality issues. Communicate progress, challenges, and production updates with supervisors and team members. Participate in process improvement initiatives and support root cause analysis activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times. Complete assigned tasks independently and collaboratively to meet production schedules. Utilize computer systems and CAD software to access and follow assembly designs. Attend training sessions and apply learned skills to support continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Experience working as an Assembler, Wiring Technician, or Electrical Assembler in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation. Experience assembling switchboards, panelboards, or similar electrical products. Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and assembly equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in repetitive and complex assembly work. Knowledge of manufacturing drawings, front views, order entry systems, and inventory-related documentation. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and troubleshooting skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Basic computer skills, including the ability to use CAD software for viewing designs. Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the workday. High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications Experience with electrical infrastructure products, switchgear, switchboards, and panelboards. Familiarity with standard manufacturing processes and assembly techniques. Exposure to ERP systems and inventory control processes. Experience conducting visual quality inspections and identifying nonconforming parts. Knowledge of GMP or standardized manufacturing procedures. Participation in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Willingness to learn new skills and advance into technical or leadership roles. Work Environment Fast-paced manufacturing environment producing electrification and critical infrastructure products. Extensive use of hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and assembly equipment. Team-oriented workplace with strong training, coaching, and career development opportunities. Safety-focused environment requiring PPE, including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Physically active role requiring standing, walking, and lifting materials throughout the shift.
Available Shifts Day Shift:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00
PM Night Shift:
Monday-Friday, 5:30 PM to 3:30 AM Standard 50-hour work week. Additional 5-10 hours of overtime available weekly. All hours worked over 40 per week are paid at overtime rates (time-and-a-half). Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
