Description Exedy, a well-established global Tier 1 automotive supplier, is expanding its reach into the global agricultural and heavy-lift drone markets. We are looking for an Electrical Technician to support the rapid development, integration, and testing of unmanned aircraft systems and sub-assemblies. This is a hands-on engineering support role focused on wire harness and cable fabrication, connector termination, PCB preparation and installation, electrical troubleshooting, UAV integration and testing. The ideal candidate is comfortable working from schematics, wiring diagrams, pinouts, and engineering drawings and can independently build, modify, install, test, troubleshoot electrical assemblies, turning electrical designs into functional prototype hardware quickly and reliably. Key Responsibilities 1. Cable & Harness Fabrication

• Build prototype wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and connector assemblies for UAV electrical and avionics systems.
• Cut, strip, crimp, solder, splice, terminate, and label electrical wiring.
• Assemble and terminate connectors, terminals, contacts, backshells, and related hardware.
• Build wiring assemblies from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pinouts, and engineering drawings.
• Fabricate and modify prototype cables quickly to support engineering development and testing.
• Install and route wiring on UAV prototypes with appropriate strain relief, service loops, protection, and separation.
• Modify and repair existing harnesses as designs evolve.
• Perform continuity, polarity, resistance, and basic electrical checks on fabricated assemblies. 2. PCB Preparation & Installation
• Prepare engineering and prototype PCBs for installation into UAV electrical systems.
• Perform conformal coating of PCBs and electronic assemblies using approved processes and materials.
• Prepare PCB surfaces for coating, including masking of connectors, test points, switches, mounting surfaces, and other areas that must remain uncoated.
• Inspect conformal coating for coverage, defects, contamination, and proper curing.
• Install PCBs, flight controllers, power distribution hardware, avionics modules, and other electronic assemblies into prototype aircraft.
• Perform mechanical and electrical integration of PCBs and electronic assemblies, including mounting, grounding, connector installation, and cable routing.
• Assist engineers with PCB bring-up and functional testing.
• Troubleshoot electrical and integration issues at the board, connector, and system level.
• Assist with rework, component replacement, connector replacement, and other basic PCB-level repairs. 3. UAV Integration & Testing
• Support electrical system bring-up and integration of: o Flight controllers o ESCs o Power distribution systems o

GNSS/RTK

systems o Radios and telemetry equipment o Cameras o Pumps and actuators o Other sensors

• Perform electrical troubleshooting using multimeters, bench power supplies, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.
• Assist engineers with bench testing, ground testing, and flight testing.
• Diagnose wiring, connector, power, communication, and integration issues.
• Build temporary electrical test setups to support engineering development.
• Perform field modifications and repairs during prototype and flight testing.
• Document test results, wiring changes, and hardware modifications. 4. Quality & Documentation
• Build and inspect cable and harness assemblies in accordance with applicable

requirements.

• Follow applicable

IPC-A-610

requirements for electronic assembly workmanship.

• Maintain basic fabrication records including wire specifications, connector part numbers, cable lengths, pinouts, and revisions.
• Maintain organized inventory of wires, terminals, connectors, PCB materials, conformal coating supplies, heat shrink, sleeving, labels, and other electrical hardware.
• Identify workmanship, assembly, and integration issues and recommend improvements.
• Keep prototype electrical assemblies clean, organized, and serviceable. 5. General
• Self-starter capable of working independently in a concept-stage product development environment.
• Comfortable working with evolving requirements and rapid development cycles.
• Ability and willingness to support flight testing activities.
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Required Qualifications
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with electrical assembly, wiring, cable/harness fabrication, electronics assembly, or a similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with: o Crimping o Soldering o Wire preparation o Connector termination o Cable/harness assembly o Experience reading and following electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pinouts, and assembly drawings.
• Experience using: o Wire strippers and cutters o Professional crimping tools o Terminal insertion/extraction tools o Soldering equipment o Multimeters o Bench power supplies o Basic electronic test equipment o Heat-shrink and cable braids
• Experience with PCB handling, installation, and basic electronic assembly.
• Experience with PCB conformal coating processes.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and

IPC/WHMA-A-620

workmanship standards.

• Strong attention to connector pinouts, polarity, wire routing, crimp quality, solder joints, PCB handling, and overall workmanship.
• Ability to systematically troubleshoot electrical problems.
• Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing prototype environment. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with UAVs, aircraft, robotics, automotive, or other complex electrical systems.
• IPC-A-610 and/or

IPC/WHMA-A-620

certification.

• Experience with PCB conformal coating and masking processes.
• Experience with aerospace or military-style wire harnesses.
• Experience with connectors from JST, Molex, Servo, Amass, Amphenol, Hirose, D-sub, circular connector families, or similar.
• Experience with CAN, Ethernet, PWM, and other electrical interfaces.
• Experience working with high-current battery and power wiring.
• Experience with braided sleeving, heat shrink, shielding, strain relief, and EMI-conscious wiring practices.
• Experience with UAV avionics including flight controllers, ESCs, GNSS/RTK systems, telemetry radios, sensors, and companion computers.
• Experience using oscilloscopes, electronic loads, power analyzers, or similar test equipment.
• Basic understanding of DC power systems and electrical safety.
