delivers high-performance cables and custom cable assemblies engineered for motion control, industrial automation, and other harsh-environment applications. Position Overview We are seeking a Cable Assembly Engineer to lead the design, specification, and manufacturing handoff of custom cable assemblies and wire harnesses. In this role, you will bridge customer application needs with production reality - evaluating technical inputs, selecting cables and connectors, generating CAD drawings, and supporting prototyping to ensure every solution is electrically sound, mechanically robust, and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities Design & Specification:
Evaluate customer technical inputs to select optimal raw cables, connectors, shielding, overmolds, and accessories for static and continuous-flex industrial applications.
Documentation & Costing:
Generate 2D/3D CAD production drawings, wiring schematics, detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs), and accurate cost rollups to support rapid quotation and shop-floor manufacturing.
Prototyping & Testing:
Define testing protocols, determine pass/fail criteria, and work directly with assembly technicians to build, test, and validate first-article prototypes.

Produce clear standard work instructions, develop assembly aids/tooling requirements, and troubleshoot production issues to maintain quality and throughput.
Manufacturing & Sales Support:
Produce clear standard work instructions, develop assembly aids/tooling requirements, and troubleshoot production issues to maintain quality and throughput. Required Qualifications Associates or BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent technical field). Demonstrated proficiency in 2D/3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical drawings and electrical schematics. Strong working knowledge of industrial connectors, wire types, shielding practices, and cable-routing design. Solid understanding of electrical fundamentals, mechanical stress, and environmental factors in industrial automation/motion control. Hands-on experience developing BOMs, ERP routings, and component-level costing. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work directly with customers, sales, and manufacturing staff. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of design or manufacturing engineering experience within the wire, cable, harness or related assembly industry. Familiarity with industry standards such as
IPC/WHMA-A-620, UL
wiring harness. Practical knowledge of cable jacket and insulation materials (PVC, PUR, TPE) and their performance in flex, oil, and chemical environments. Experience with electrical connectivity for servo, encoder, or stepper motors. Policies TK USA is an equal opportunity employer.
