Full Job Description Job Description:

The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, electronic subcomponents, printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies, and mechanical assemblies according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work with both electronic and mechanical components.

Essential Function and Responsibilities:

• Assemble electronic control panel subcomponents, wiring harnesses, and mechanical assemblies according to drawings and work instructions.
• Install and connect electrical components including relays, terminal blocks, switches, power supplies, circuit breakers, and other control devices.
• Assemble and mount PCB assemblies, electronic components, and subassemblies.
• Route, terminate, label, and secure wiring in accordance with electrical schematics.
• Perform mechanical assembly using hand and power tools.
• Conduct visual inspections and basic functional testing to verify assembly quality.
• Identify and report assembly discrepancies, damaged components, or documentation issues.
• Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
• Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures when handling electronic components.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Assist with troubleshooting and rework of assemblies as needed.
• Comply with all company safety policies and quality standards.

Position Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of experience in electronic or electromechanical assembly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, crimping tools, and measuring devices.
• Familiarity with electronic components and control panel assembly.
• Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Frequent standing, bending, and reaching.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to distinguish wire colors and small electronic components.
• Ability to use hand tools for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Manufacturing/production environment.
• Exposure to electronic assembly equipment and hand tools.
• Requires adherence to ESD and safety procedures.
