SUMMARY Assembles metal products, such as night scans, or marine pedestals, partially or completely, working at bench or on shop floor by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following:

• Installing and wiring lighting fixtures to products.
• Installing and testing electric motors, printed circuit boards, remote switches wiring harness, electric actuators and other devices.
• Tests sub-assembled units according to written test procedures.
• Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
• Installs parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings and works them to assure free movement. Cut, install and solder copper pipe and fittings as well as valves. Installs and wires circuit breakers.
• Test or assist in testing operation of complete product.
• Other duties may be assigned.

EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
