Job Description

  • Job Title: Assembler
  • Job Description
  • This role focuses on the mechanical and electronic assembly of products used to cut and test fiber optic cables. You work from detailed written instructions to assemble small, precise mechanical components and perform minor wiring, ensuring each unit meets quality and performance standards. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Interpret complex and detailed work instructions to assemble units accurately.

+ Perform small parts mechanical assembly using hand tools and measuring tools.

+ Carry out basic wiring and electronic assembly tasks on units as required.

+ Use small hand tools and measuring devices safely and effectively during assembly work.

+ Assemble small, intricate mechanical components with a high level of precision and care.

+ Learn and adapt quickly to new assemblies, processes, and procedures as production needs evolve.

+ Communicate clearly and professionally with peers and support personnel to coordinate work and resolve issues.

+ Follow documented procedures and work instructions to maintain consistency and quality in production.

+ Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure assemblies are correct, complete, and meet specifications.

+ Support testing activities when needed, such as basic board testing or functional checks of assembled units.

+ Perform soldering tasks, when applicable, to support electrical and electronic assembly work.

+ Contribute to a flexible production environment by assisting where the team needs support and adjusting to shifting priorities.

  • Essential Skills
  • + Ability to interpret and follow complex work instructions for mechanical and electronic assembly.

+ Hands-on experience using small hand tools and measuring tools in an assembly or production environment.

+ Demonstrated capability to assemble small mechanical components with precision.

+ Experience performing basic wiring for mechanical or electronic units.

+ Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality, accurate assemblies.

+ Ability to learn and pick up new assemblies and processes quickly.

+ Effective communication skills for working with peers and support groups.

+ Experience in technical mechanical assembly, working from documented work instructions.

+ Experience in electronics or within a technical manufacturing environment.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Experience with electronic or electrical assembly is highly beneficial.

+ Exposure to small parts assembly in a production or manufacturing setting.

+ Ability to read and understand detailed procedures, drawings, or work instructions.

+ Any test experience, including board testing, is a plus.

+ Soldering skills in electrical or electronic applications are an advantage.

+ Proven track record of reliability and commitment to long-term employment.

+ Comfort working in a technical company focused on precision products and fiber optic-related equipment.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $24.

00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
