Job Title:
Electrical Technician Job Description This role focuses on electrical and automation controls assembly, industrial machine support, and troubleshooting and maintenance of machinery. The technician assembles, wires, and tests control systems, works from schematics and CAD models, and supports mechanical assembly tasks in a climate-controlled environment. The position requires a strong commitment to quality, safety, and attention to detail, with occasional travel as needed. Responsibilities Assemble, mount, and wire a wide range of electrical and automation control devices, including power supplies, breakers, relays, switches, drives, and PLCs. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings to build and troubleshoot control systems accurately. Navigate and use 3D and 2D CAD assembly models to support electrical and mechanical assembly tasks. Interface with common software suites such as Microsoft Office to document work, update records, and communicate project status. Perform general assembly tasks such as cutting, fastening, tapping, drilling, and punching using small hand and power tools. Support industrial machines through troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical, automation, and control systems. Apply pneumatic knowledge, where applicable, to assist in the assembly and maintenance of equipment. Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and ensure accurate assembly. Work safely on ladders, at floor level, and in various positions while handling components and assemblies. Lift and move components weighing 50 pounds or more in a safe and controlled manner. Maintain a strong focus on quality and attention to detail in all tasks to ensure reliable and safe operation of equipment. Travel occasionally, approximately 5-10%, to support installations, service work, or project needs as required. Essential Skills Experience with electrical and automation controls assembly, industrial machine support, or machine troubleshooting and maintenance. Ability to identify, assemble, mount, and wire a variety of control devices such as power supplies, breakers, relays, switches, drives, and PLCs. Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings. Ability to navigate and interpret 3D and 2D CAD assembly models. Competence with common software suites, including Microsoft Office. Skill in general assembly tasks, including cutting, fastening, tapping, drilling, and punching using small hand and power tools. Ability to safely lift 50 pounds or more and work on ladders or at floor level as required. Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to quality. High school diploma or equivalent. Electrical trade school education or equivalent applicable experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Pneumatic experience is a plus and beneficial for supporting related systems. Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers. Familiarity with CAD software for reviewing and working with assembly models. Comfort with occasional travel, approximately 5-10%, to support field work or projects. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills in an industrial environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a climate-controlled facility designed to support comfort and consistency throughout the workday. Typical schedules include Monday-Friday 8-hour shifts or an alternative Monday-Thursday 10-hour shift structure, providing some flexibility in how the workweek is arranged. The position involves hands-on work with electrical and mechanical components, small hand and power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers, as well as regular use of CAD software and office applications. Safety is a priority, and composite toe shoes (not steel toes) are required as part of the dress code. Work may involve standing, climbing ladders, working at floor level, and lifting components weighing 50 pounds or more, all within a well-organized and safety-focused industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Malvern, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
