Job Title:
Electronic Assembly Technician Job Description This role supports high-volume electronic assembly operations within the Assembly Department, with a strong focus on hands-on soldering and cable assembly for established production lines. You will work on electronic assemblies, wiring, and printed circuit boards while performing testing, calibration, and troubleshooting using a variety of test equipment. Due to increased production demand and aggressive ramp-up timelines, this position requires someone who can contribute quickly with minimal training and work independently on the production line. Responsibilities Perform hands-on electronic assembly, including through-hole soldering, cable assembly, wiring, and printed circuit board work for high-volume production lines. Assemble, inspect, and rework electronic components and printed circuit boards in accordance with J-STD soldering standards and internal quality procedures. Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, voltmeters, and other electronic test instruments to verify functionality and ensure assemblies meet specifications. Troubleshoot and debug electronic assemblies and circuits, identifying and resolving issues related to wiring, components, and printed circuit boards. Interpret and work from electrical schematics, engineering documentation, and assembly instructions to complete builds accurately and efficiently. Perform electronics testing, calibration, and verification activities to support production quality and reliability requirements. Follow established processes and work instructions to maintain consistency and compliance in a regulated or high-volume manufacturing environment. Work independently on a production line with minimal supervision while meeting production targets and aggressive ramp-up timelines. Maintain a high level of reliability, including consistent attendance, punctuality, and long-term commitment to production schedules. Collaborate with engineering, test, and production teams to resolve assembly issues and continuously improve build quality and throughput. Essential Skills Strong hands-on soldering experience, particularly through-hole soldering for electronic assemblies and printed circuit boards. J-STD soldering certification and demonstrated ability to apply soldering standards in a production environment. Previous experience in high-volume or regulated manufacturing environments, particularly in electronics or electrical assembly. Proficiency with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, voltmeters, and other diagnostic tools. Ability to interpret and work from electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and assembly documentation. Experience with electronic assembly, wiring, printed circuit boards, and electronics testing and calibration. Ability to troubleshoot and debug electronic assemblies and circuits using test equipment and systematic problem-solving methods. Capability to ramp quickly with limited training and testing time, contributing effectively under aggressive production timelines. Ability to work independently on a production line with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality standards. High level of reliability, attendance, and demonstrated long-term commitment to production operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior manufacturing or electronic assembly experience in an industrial or production setting. Familiarity with mechanical aspects of assembly and integration of electronic components into larger systems. Experience using a range of test equipment and tools for electronics troubleshooting and verification. Comfort working with printed circuit boards, including assembly, inspection, and rework. Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset in a fast-paced production environment. Work Environment This position is 100% onsite in Pottstown, PA, within a high-volume electronic assembly and manufacturing environment. You will work primarily in the Assembly Department on established production lines, using soldering equipment, test instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and voltmeters, and other standard electronics assembly tools. The work environment emphasizes consistent processes, adherence to quality standards, and the ability to ramp up quickly to meet increased production demand and aggressive timelines. You can expect a hands-on role with close interaction with production and engineering teams in a structured manufacturing setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pottstown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
