Electromechanical Assembler & Service Technician (30% Travel) Neenah, WI | Direct Hire | 1st

7:00 AM-3:00 PM About the Role This hands-on role builds, wires, tests, and troubleshoots custom machinery and automated systems. You will complete electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic assembly; interpret schematics and drawings; perform point-to-point wiring; and verify that completed equipment meets project and quality requirements. The position combines in-house machine building with approximately 30% travel for installation, startup, testing, troubleshooting, and service at customer locations, primarily throughout the United States and occasionally internationally. This is a direct-hire, first-shift opportunity for an experienced technician who can work independently, collaborate across teams, communicate clearly with customers and vendors, and maintain accurate project documentation. Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic assembly of custom machinery and automated systems
- Build and assemble custom machinery, automation equipment, tooling, and related systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals
- Route, bundle, label, and terminate wires and cables neatly in accordance with applicable wiring standards
- Perform point-to-point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O modules, VFDs, interfaces, instrumentation, and other control components
- Troubleshoot electrical control panels to identify and correct wiring errors, component failures, and other system issues
- Work with controls and programming vendors during machine builds, testing, installation, and field service
- Provide equipment documentation, operating instructions, and technical support in collaboration with controls and programming vendors
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, service, internal teams, vendors, and customer personnel to complete projects
- Maintain accurate red-line markups of drawings to document design and fabrication changes
- Inspect and verify completed work for compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements
- Install, start up, test, troubleshoot, and service machinery and systems at customer locations
- Track work progress accurately and prepare timely, detailed service and project reports Required Qualifications
- Technical degree, certificate, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience
- Three or more years of experience as a machine builder, electromechanical assembler, or service technician in an Engineer-to-Order design and build environment
- Experience installing, commissioning, starting up, troubleshooting, and servicing custom machinery and automated systems
- Experience with custom machinery, automation, and tooling
- Ability to connect to and troubleshoot controls hardware and control logic using software
- Working knowledge of sensors, solenoid valves, VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, and related electrical control devices
- Ability to read and work from electrical and mechanical schematics
- Experience with field wiring and electrical control panel construction
- Working knowledge of electromechanical, power transmission, hydraulic, and pneumatic components and systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
- Strong Microsoft Office and general computer and software skills
- Ability and willingness to travel for customer installation, startup, testing, and service
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and prepare detailed service and project reports

Pay:
$35.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
