Cleanroom Mechanical Assembler Job Description The Cleanroom Mechanical Assembler will build and test complex mechanical and electrical assemblies in a class 10 cleanroom environment. This role focuses on precise mechanical assembly, electrical crimping and connections, and the use of hand tools and testing equipment while following detailed assembly drawings and established production processes. The position requires consistent use of basic computer software for communication and documentation, and active participation in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Read and interpret assembly drawings to accurately build mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies and component parts. Perform mechanical assembly using a variety of hand tools and testing equipment, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards. Crimp and make electrical connections according to specifications and standard operating procedures. Assemble and test sub-assemblies and component parts in a cleanroom environment, maintaining cleanliness and contamination control at all times. Use basic computer software, including email and word processing, to document work, record data, and communicate with team members. Support hydro testing and data recording activities when required, following established protocols and accurately capturing test results. Work effectively in an ISO9001-compliant environment, following documented processes and contributing to quality management practices. Apply 5S and lean manufacturing principles on the production floor to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe workspace. Participate in process improvement projects, such as six sigma and lean initiatives, to enhance productivity, quality, and reliability. Collaborate with team members in a production environment, while also being able to work independently with minimal supervision. Build large-scale equipment assemblies in accordance with engineering and production requirements. Maintain adherence to cleanroom procedures, including gowning protocols and handling of materials and tools suitable for a class 10 cleanroom. Essential Skills 2-3 years of manual assembly production experience in a manufacturing or production environment. 3+ years of mechanical assembly experience, including use of hand tools and testing equipment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting assembly drawings and technical documentation. Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies and component parts. Ability to crimp and make electrical connections safely and accurately. Experience working in an ISO9001 environment and following standardized processes. Background in 5S and lean manufacturing practices on the shop floor. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both team settings and independently. Experience building large-scale equipment or complex mechanical systems. Comfort using basic computer software, including email and word processing applications. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with hydro testing and data recording in a production or test environment (nice to have). Experience working in a cleanroom environment, preferably class 10. Participation in process improvement projects, such as six sigma or lean initiatives. Familiarity with semiconductor process equipment or gas distribution equipment is beneficial. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in a regulated manufacturing setting. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a fully onsite role, working five days a week in a class 10 cleanroom environment. Work is performed in an ISO9001-certified facility that follows 5S and lean manufacturing principles, with a strong emphasis on cleanliness, organization, and adherence to documented procedures. The role involves regular use of hand tools, testing equipment, and basic computer software, and requires compliance with cleanroom protocols and appropriate gowning and attire suitable for a controlled environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Longmont, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
