As part of the Assembly Team, this position works very closely with Production Management, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control and is responsible for maintaining the throughput needed to meet Mark-7 productivity and quality goals.

  • Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
  • Reads and deciphers drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Positions or aligns components and parts, either manually or with fixtures.
  • Uses hand tools, power tools, or custom machines to assemble parts.
  • Conducts quality control checks.
  • Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Notifies supervisor of any assembly issues and obtains additional resources to work toward resolution.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and alerting supervisor when repairs are needed.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Help to maintain inventory levels by performing cycle counts.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms. Desired Qualifications 1-3 years of experience within a manufacturing environment Safety mindset and a focus on quality control Self-motivation and a demonstrated a sense of urgency
  • Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small Ability to read work instructions and interpret drawings, diagrams and schematics (in English only).
Ability to function in a team environment, respond to changing priorities, and take direction from leadership Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and practices is a plus Working conditions The Mechanical Assembler operates in a manufacturing environment, with the majority of time spent directly on the assembly floor. This role will occasionally involve interaction with other departments as needed to accomplish production goals. Mechanical Assembler will work within various areas on the production floor with computer access as per the role's needs. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), with standard hours being Monday through Friday beginning at 8:00 am and ending at 4:30 pm, to include a 30-minute lunch and two 15-munite break periods ( start-stop times subject to change). Overtime may be required based on the production schedule. See the company handbook for recognized paid holidays, time-off policies, and other details. All Assemblers and Assembly Technicians shall report to the Assembly Team Leader or Production manager. This position has no direct reports. Physical requirements Stand, walk and sit frequently Regularly use hand tools and small power tools in the assembly of products Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds seldomly Vision abilities required are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Provided magnifying equipment may be used as needed. Must be able to read and understand English.
