Qualifying Questions:

Summary:
Assembles, installs, seals, rigs, and inspects precision structural and system components using drawings, process specifications, and quality control requirements. Functional tests and corrects fit, form, and function of assemblies and components. Obtains required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, documents, and verbal or electronic data. Uses shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete work assignments and functional tests. Utilizes tooling in the assembly of components into sub-assemblies or end items. Verifies work per work instructions and engineering specifications and identifies discrepancies per applicable procedures. Performs routine minor machine maintenance including filter replacement, bulb changes, and lubrication or coolant level maintenance. Sets up and operates conventional and CNC fastening equipment (MTGRs, Brotje, C-Frames, IPACs) to assemble components. Verifies dimensions of parts using mechanical and electronic measurement tools and initiates corrective action for programming issues. Performs complete inspection including first part review of procured or fabricated parts and assemblies and documents non-conforming conditions for Material Review Board action.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR). Experience assembling, installing, sealing, rigging, and inspecting precision structural and system components. Experience with sheet metal and structural assembly operations including removing and replacing airplane structures. Experience using shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments for functional testing and assembly. Experience setting up and operating conventional and CNC fastening equipment (MTGRs, Brotje, C-Frames, IPACs). Experience performing structural inspection including first article review and process surveillance. Experience documenting non-conforming conditions for Material Review Board (MRB) action and maintaining quality records. Skill in two or more specialties: Assembly/Installation Doors, Integral Fuel Cell Sealing, Precision Bench Assembly, or Pressure and Vacuum testing. Owns and maintains a comprehensive set of basic sheet metal and aviation mechanic hand tools. Experience performing close-tolerance structural repairs and modifications on aircraft assemblies.
